The concept of rescue is popular in today’s media and entertainment. Real life rescue situations in television programming quickly grip one’s emotions. Yet there is a far more dramatic rescue operation that is played out in the life of every human being. You are the endangered person in this rescue attempt.
Because of your willful disregard of God’s law (i.e. the ten commandments) you have been condemned to suffer with Satan in hell forever. God, motivated by His love, has acted on your behalf to rescue you. He came to earth and willingly took your place, bore the guilt of your sin, and suffered the consequential judgment on your behalf. He came to rescue you from your sin!
Having provided for your rescue He freely offers you freedom from the penalty of sin (hell). He will welcome you into His family, provide you with His fellowship, and prepare for you an eternal home with Him. As in many rescue attempts the endangered person cries out for help when they realize the danger they are in. That directs the rescuers to their location and the rescue can be successful. Likewise, you must cry out to God from the danger of your present position and He will rescue you. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (rescued).” (Romans 10:13)
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
We at Community Baptist Church are in the rescuing business. We would count it a privilege to help you find peace with God through Jesus Christ.
